Quick start

ShopPilot finds products, compares them and returns a real Amazon buy link with this site's affiliate tag. It works two ways: a plain web API, and an MCP server that AI agents such as Claude can connect to.

  1. Ask for something, for example "wireless mouse under $30".
  2. Compare two or more results side by side.
  3. Open the buy link. If you already have an Amazon product URL or ASIN, paste it and you get the proper buy link back.

Connect an AI agent (MCP)

The MCP endpoint is https://buildanythinginstantly.com/index.php/wp-json/shoppilot/v1/mcp. It uses the Streamable HTTP transport (JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST) and needs no login.

Claude (web and desktop)

Open Settings, then Connectors, choose "Add custom connector" and paste this URL. Claude connects from the cloud, so the site must be reachable on the public internet over HTTPS.

MCP tools

All tools are read-only. Nothing is purchased or changed on your behalf.

search_products
Search for products to buy (for example "wireless mouse under $30"). Returns a ranked shortlist. Every result includes price, ratings when known, why it ranked, and the real Amazon purchase link in `buy_url` (already carrying the site's affiliate tag) plus an `add_to_cart_url`. Present `buy_url` to the user as the link to buy. Price limits can be written in the query or passed as max_price / min_price.
find_and_compare
One call for the whole shopping flow: search, take the top matches, and compare them side by side with a verdict (best overall, best value, lowest price, top rated) and a buy link for each. Best default when the user asks "what should I buy?".
compare_products
Compare 2 to 6 specific products side by side. Each item can be an ASIN or an Amazon product URL. Returns an attribute table, a verdict and a buy link for each.
get_buy_link
Turn an ASIN, an Amazon product URL (any marketplace) or an amzn.to / a.co short link into a proper purchase link with the site's affiliate tag, plus an add-to-cart link. Use this when the user already has a product in mind.
get_product_details
Details for one product (price, features, specs, pros and cons when known) plus its buy link. Accepts an ASIN or an Amazon product URL.

Every response includes ok, the disclosure text, a price notice and a timestamp. Errors use the standard WordPress REST format with a code and message.

Limits and etiquette

  • Rate limit: 60 requests per minute per client. The X-RateLimit-* headers show what is left.
  • Up to 10 results per search and 6 products per comparison.
  • Prices change. Always show the final price from Amazon and tell people to confirm it before buying.

Affiliate links and disclosure

Buy links carry this site's Amazon Associates tag, so the site earns a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to the buyer. Agents should show the buy_url exactly as returned and keep the disclosure with it.
